I attended the Dedication and candle light vigil last week at the South Hill Precinct of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department and had some pictures taken, but didn't remember to place them up here until now.  It was a very well put together Ceremony, and honored Shandon and his wife Janessa.
The Picture above is of the Memorial Wall at the South Hill Precinct, and the second one is of the flags being lowered to Half Staff by the Honor Guard and the Pierce County Sheriff's Cadets.
Our team of four will be riding for Shandon & Kent this year, while we wear memorial bracelets with their names on them.  When we arrive in Washington D.C., we will present these bracelets to these two Deputies Wives and family.

Here is our Team picture that we finally had taken.
This way you can see who the four of us are and put a face to the message we are spreading in Honoring our Fallen fellow Law Enforcement Officers.

Our First Post

Here is the first post to our new Blog to follow us on our travels during the 2012 Police Unity Tour (P.U.T.).  The four of us from the Pierce County Sheriff's Honor Guard are looking forward to the 320 mile bicycle ride in a little under 70 days.  We have to say thank you to all of our supporters as we have been fundraising to meet our minimum goal of $7200 dollars to donate to the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Foundation.
I am looking forward to using this media to let our supporters know how we are doing on each day of our 320 mile journey.  As often as possible, hopefully each night, myself or Mike Peek will get on here and post pictures and video of our travels for that day, and let you all know how that day went.  I will be using a GoPro camera attached to my bike to film shots along the way and Mike said he will take pictures as he goes.
I'm going to try to place a link here for you to see, of a video I put together that helps explain why we are doing this ride and what the Police Unity Tour is all about.  Check it out if you have a moment.
Thanks,  Jon Blind
